Account credit

Account credit is money OrderDen has put on your bill. It comes off your next OrderDen invoice automatically — you do nothing to redeem it, and there is no code to enter.

It usually arrives for one of three reasons: a goodwill gesture, something to soften a move from another tool, or an apology when we have got something wrong. We grant it; you cannot buy it, and there is nothing to top up.

Where to see it

Account & Billing → Payment method & invoices. The card appears once there is credit or a history of it, and shows the balance, what it will do to your next invoice, and every movement: what it was for, how much, and when. The reason is written by whoever granted it, so it should say what it was about.

How it comes off a bill

When your next invoice is finalised, Stripe takes the credit off the total before charging your card.

• Credit smaller than the invoice. $10 of credit against a $17 invoice charges $7 to your card, and the balance goes to zero.
• Credit larger than the invoice. $30 of credit against a $17 invoice charges nothing, and $13 stays on the balance for the invoice after.

Adding or removing a person mid-cycle does not disturb it. Seat changes land on your next invoice as a prorated line, and the credit comes off whatever that invoice totals.

What it is not

• Not a payment method. It only ever comes off an OrderDen invoice. You cannot pay anybody else with it, and it is not a card on file.
• Not cash, and not refundable. It cannot be paid out, transferred to another workspace, or exchanged for anything.
• Not a plan change. It does not raise your invoice allowance or your seats — it pays for the plan you are on.

If you cancel

Anything left stays on the account. Nothing expires it and nothing takes it away; if you come back, it is still there and still comes off the first invoice you are charged.

GET /api/v1/billing/account-credit returns the balance and the same ledger your billing page shows — see the API reference. It is read-only: credit is granted by OrderDen, never by a key.
