Dashboard

The dashboard is your home screen: a customizable board of widgets showing the state of the business at a glance.

Where it sits

Dashboard is the first row of the sidebar, on its own above the four groups the rest of the app is arranged into — Sales, Inventory, Purchasing and Making — with Reports on its own at the bottom. The logo takes you back here from anywhere. The full map is in Getting started.

Widget rows link straight to the record they name — the item, the purchase, the invoice a payment settled — so the board is also the shortest route into the app. Where those records live in the sidebar: items and stock under Inventory, purchases and receipts under Purchasing → Spending, payments and credit notes under Sales → Payments & credits.

The widget board

Click Customize to add, remove, resize and reorder widgets. Your layout is saved to your profile — each member of the team arranges their own board.

The catalog has over twenty widgets in four groups:

• Metrics — revenue, invoiced & sold, expenses, net cash, open orders (count and value), open invoices, outstanding balance, deposits outstanding (deposit and progress invoices raised and not yet paid — see Deposits), quote pipeline, quote conversion rate, new clients, average sale, gross margin (margin on the period's orders as a share of their net revenue, with the margin amount underneath; orders with no cost data are counted but not measured — see Orders), inventory value (what the tracked stock on hand is worth at average cost, with the number of items low on stock underneath — see Inventory & stock), expenses this month (what has gone out on receipts so far this calendar month, whatever range the rest of the board is showing) and unbilled expenses (money spent for a client and not yet charged back — see Expenses), active projects (pieces of work under way or on hold, and what they are contracted to be worth) and unbilled time (billable hours not yet on an invoice, and what they are worth at your charge-out rate — see Projects). Invoiced & sold and Average sale count the period's invoices; Revenue, Net cash, Top clients and Top items count the money and the goods behind them.
• Charts — revenue over time and cash flow (money in vs money out). Expenses, Net cash and the cash-flow chart count money out from both sides: what was paid against a supplier's bill and the expenses recorded on a receipt.
• Lists — recent activity, recent payments, upcoming and past-due invoices, overdue by age (what is owed bucketed 1–30, 31–60, 61–90 and 90+ days past due — the top of the AR ageing report), expiring quotes, orders due this week, recent orders and quotes, top clients, top items, shipments in transit, unpaid purchases, low stock (tracked items at or below their reorder point, lowest available first), on the bench (production runs planned or under way), curing stock (finished batches inside their cure window, soonest ready first — see Production).
• Quick actions — one-click buttons for new quote / order / invoice / client.

Recent payments links each row to the invoice it settled.

Date ranges

The period picker (today, this week, last 7 / 30 days, this month, quarter, year, custom range…) drives every range-aware widget. Snapshot widgets — the "open" counts and the lists — always show the current state regardless of the selected range.

Orders due this week

Orders due this week lists the open orders — anything not Completed or Cancelled — with a promised delivery date falling on or before the end of the current week, soonest first. Orders already past their promised date stay in the list and are flagged Overdue, so nothing slips out of view. Set the promised date on the order itself; see Orders.

Recent activity

The Recent activity widget is the live feed of everything your team changes — who did it, what record it concerns, and when. Entries link to the client and to the document they're about. See Activity & history for what gets logged.
